How can we help?
Techyon sends one technology breakthrough a day, straight from first-hand sources, with nothing for you to sort. Here are the questions people ask most. If yours isn’t here, write to us.
Questions
When does an issue arrive?
The moment it’s ready, with no fixed hour: at least one issue every day, now and then a breaking alert. The only thing to set is quiet hours (23:00–07:00 by default, in your time zone, or switched off). During them, issues wait silently and nudge you when they end. Open the app any time to read the latest.
What are breaking alerts?
An extra issue, sent when something can’t wait for tomorrow. They’re rare, a few a month at most, and they follow your quiet hours like every other issue.
Which languages?
English and Chinese. Every issue is written in both, and you can switch any time.
Can I use it now?
Yes. Install Techyon from the App Store, or start on the web and sign in to the app with the same email.
How much does it cost?
7 days free, then US$99 a year, about 27¢ a day. Students pay US$49 a year on the web with a school email.
How do I cancel or get a refund?
Cancel during the free week and you pay nothing. For web purchases, cancel through the link in your Paddle receipt; any charge is refunded in full if you ask within 14 days (see the refund policy). For App Store purchases, cancel in Settings › Apple ID › Subscriptions at least 24 hours before renewal, and ask Apple for refunds.
How does the student price work?
Sign up on the web with your school email (.edu, .ac.uk, edu.sg and so on). We don’t ask for documents.
What do you do with my data?
Only what’s needed to deliver issues, look after your membership and answer you. No ads, no third-party trackers, no selling data. To have yours deleted, use the form. Details are in the privacy policy.
I found a mistake in an issue
Thank you. Tell us which issue and what’s wrong. We fix it in the issue and add a note saying what changed. See our editorial principles.
Is this investment advice?
No. We cover technology and never name stocks.
